STRAND dress + top | PDF sewing pattern

This design was inspired by simple summer daydreaming, by vivid memories of long, hot summer days, by the romantic narrative of dancing in a field of wildflowers and by the second film in my all-time favorite trilogy, Before Sunset. The STRAND dress has a slight 70’s vibe, but with clean modern lines. As a top, it can be worn loose or tucked into a skirt or high waist cutoffs. The dress features inseam pockets and a drawstring, allowing you to easily adjust the fit and feel of the dress at any point in the day.

This is a computer drafted, layered and nested pattern,  printable in black/white or color. All sizes are drafted with B-cup and D-cup options and approx. 168 cm or 5ft.6in. Step-by-step illustrated instructions guide you to create French seams using a standard sewing machine. The print-at-home, A0 and copyshop files are included in your purchase. The pattern includes all sizes, but the size views can be easily toggled on or off in order to print either all sizes or only the size(s) you want to make. 

SIZING | 76cm to 160cm (30" to 63") full bust (approx. US size 0 to 36W)
halfmoon ATELIER patterns do not follow standard sizing charts. They are
numbered 1 to 18, and correspond approximately to US 0 to 36W. (Please note that older patterns are somewhat less inclusive.) 

The size chart here lists every other size simply to keep the numbers visible. However, the full size chart, with detailed measurements for all 18 sizes, is included in the pattern instructions. 

FABRIC
lightweight woven fabrics with an element of drape, such as cotton, lawn, double gauze, linen, silk, etc.
